KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking sell-offs in refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm olein futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).
Mumbai-based Sunvin Group head of commodity research Anilkumar Bagani said the decline in CPO prices was also driven by weaker soybean oil futures on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and lower energy prices.
“Additionally, market concerns over a further increase in Malaysian palm oil stocks persist, despite stronger October export performance, as production has yet to show any significant decline,” he told Bernama.
At the close, the November 2026 contract fell RM63 to RM4,391 per tonne, the December 2026 contract slipped RM61 to RM4,530 and January 2027 edged down RM69 to RM4,616 per tonne.
The February 2027 contract slid RM77 to RM4,700 per tonne, March 2027 decreased RM82 to RM4,773, and April 2027 declined RM89 to RM4,821 per tonne.
Trading volume increased to 110,477 lots from 66,192 on Wednesday, while open interest rose to 339,545 contracts from 338,941 contracts previously.
The physical CPO price for November South fell RM80 to RM4,400 per tonne.
