IPOH, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) Secretary-General Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainuddin heads the list of 218 recipients of Perak state honours and medals in conjunction with the 70th birthday of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today.
Anis Rizana, 56, who made history as the first woman appointed as director-general of Customs on Sept 25, 2023, is conferred the Darjah Dato’ Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
Chief of Defence Force General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman receives the Darjah Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS), which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
Accountant-General Nasran Omar is conferred the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which carries the title Datuk.
State Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) Director-General Muhammad Akmal Ila Ahmad, and Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (Perak SADC) Chief Executive Officer Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusof are among 14 individuals conferred the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which also carries the title Datuk.
Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj is also conferred the DPMP, which carries the title Datuk.
Eight individuals receive the Darjah Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan. They include Bukit Aman Special Branch Director Datuk Seri Ibrahim Darus, General Operations Force (GOF) Northern Brigade Commander SAC Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh, and Perak Deputy Police Chief DCP Mohammad Azlin Sadari.
Ten individuals receive the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM); 28 receive the Darjah Ahli Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP); 18 are awarded the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), including Bernama Perak Bureau Chief Syamsiah Sahat; and 47 receive the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP).
Another 49 recipients are awarded the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), while national para-cycling athlete Nur Suraiya Muhamad Zamri is among 31 recipients of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK). Ten individuals are awarded the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).
Earlier at a press conference, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said the investiture ceremony for the state honours and medals will be held in two sessions.
He said both investiture sessions, on Nov 15 and 21, will take place at the Balairong Seri, Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar.
Mohd Zahidi said this year's celebrations will begin with a Surah Yasin recital and doa selamat ceremony at the Sultan Azlan Shah Mosque on Jalan Raja Muda Mahadi here during Friday prayers.
“The same ceremony will also be held at all district mosques across Perak, led by the respective Orang Besar Jajahan and District Officers,” he said.
In conjunction with his birthday, the Sultan of Perak has also sponsored lunch for 8,960 inmates across Tapah Prison, Taiping Prison, Kamunting Correctional Centre, Batu Gajah Moral Rehabilitation and Correctional Centre, Chenderiang Correctional Centre, Kuala Kangsar Satellite Prison, and the Perak Halfway House today.
