MADRID, Oct 28 (Bernama-dpa) -- Several people have been injured in a collision between two high-speed trains in Spain, German Press Agency (dpa) reported, citing the emergency service 112 on Wednesday.
According to media reports, the accident happened shortly before 9 am (0800 GMT) between the towns of Urda and Orgaz in the central Spanish province of Toledo.
Sources at rail network agency ADIF told local media that one high-speed train had rammed another from behind while both were heading south towards Andalusia.
The RTVE broadcaster reported that two carriages from one of the trains had plunged down an embankment. The cause of the collision was initially unclear.
One of the trains belongs to the state-owned rail operator Renfe, and the other to the private operator Iryo.
Rail traffic between Madrid and Andalusia was halted in both directions, ADIF said.
