SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, tonight graced the Perdana Islamic Affairs Forum in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of His Royal Highness’s reign.
Also in attendance were the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
Also present at the programme, held at the Islamic Lecture and Discussion Hall of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque here, were State Islamic Affairs and Innovation Culture Committee chairman Mohammad Fahmi Ngah and Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) chairman Datuk Salehuddin Saidin.
The forum titled ‘Raja Berdaulat Memayungi Umat’, featured Selangor Mufti Datuk Dr Anhar Opir and Selangor State Fatwa and Sermon Committee member Assoc Prof Datuk Dr Muhammad Ayman Al-Akiti as panellists.
Among the key issues discussed was the role of the royal institution in safeguarding Islam.
At the event, Sultan Sharafuddin also witnessed the launch of the book titled ‘Koleksi Terpilih Titah Ucapan Sultan Selangor Berkaitan Hal Ehwal Islam’ (Selected Collection of the Sultan of Selangor's Royal Speeches on Islamic Affairs).
The book compiles selected speeches by the Sultan from 2001 to 2026, in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of His Royal Highness’s reign.
The publication is a MAIS initiative and is expected to serve as a valuable repository of knowledge and reference for present and future generations.
