KOTA BHARU, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) denied a Facebook user's claim that the water supply that was cut at his premises in Tanah Merah was done without following the established procedure.
In a statement today, AKSB clarified that the water supply disconnection and the forfeiture of the deposit on July 26 were carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), following 14 months of outstanding bills since May 2025.
According to AKSB, records indicate that the last water bill payment by the consumer in question was made on May 12, 2025. The consumer -- or representative -- visited the AKSB Tanah Merah District office on Oct 18 to seek clarification regarding the outstanding bills and the forfeited deposit.
AKSB said that the consumer is required to submit a completed application form, a copy of the land title, the applicant’s identity card, and photographs of the premises in order to re-register for a water supply connection.
"These requirements were communicated on Oct 19, and a site visit was conducted on the same day; however, the necessary documents have yet to be submitted.
"Regarding the allegations concerning water supply issues and water quality, AKSB said that a check via the PINTAS Careline (15777) revealed no record of any complaint from the complainant's phone number," read the statement.
AKSB added that an on-site inspection on Oct 21 found no issues with the water supply from the Batu Gajah Water Treatment Plant (LRA) or with the water quality in the area. AKSB advises consumers to channel complaints through the PINTAS Careline (15777) so that prompt action can be taken.
