KLANG, 21 Oct (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, graced a Royal Tea Reception with over 3,000 citizens in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of his reign at Istana Alam Shah here today.

The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, were also in attendance.

Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed upon arrival by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.

The Royal Tea Reception, attended by residents from the Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Gombak, Sepang and Kuala Selangor districts, is the third of a five-part programme organised in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the Sultan of Selangor's reign.

Meanwhile, Klang District Officer Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd, in his address, pledged the commitment of district-level administrators across Selangor to continue enhancing service quality to be more efficient, transparent, responsive, and principled, for the benefit of the people and the state's progress.

"The greater responsibility is to ensure that every policy, planning and development implementation truly benefits the people and improves their well-being.

"In executing this trust, His Royal Highness's decrees and perspectives, particularly concerning governance, integrity, public welfare and state development, serve as an invaluable guide," he said.

He noted that despite rapid development and increasingly complex social changes, the royal institution will continue to stand as a symbol of stability, unity and continuity for the state.

"Alhamdulillah, under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Selangor continues to flourish as a dynamic, high-potential and competitive state.

"This progress is supported by the wisdom of His Royal Highness's leadership, the sustained efforts of the state administration, and the support and cooperation of all the people of Selangor," he added.
