Unimed Appoints Sune Svenningsen As CEO To Steer Global Expansion

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Universal Maritime Solutions (Unimed), a provider of medical supplies, health compliance and crew wellbeing services for the shipping industry, has appointed former International SOS executive Sune Svenningsen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Svenningsen will work with Unimed’s leadership team, employees and board to advance the company’s long-term growth strategy, and plans to visit its major operating centres during his first months as CEO.

Unimed is a portfolio company of ZCG Private Equity, the private equity fund management platform of Z Capital Group LLC (ZCG).

“Sune brings deep experience in building international organisations, strengthening operational performance and leading complex global supply and distribution networks.

“His leadership will be valuable as Unimed builds on its strong foundation and continues expanding its maritime health, compliance and supply solutions around the world,” said ZCG Founder, President and CEO, James J. Zenni in a statement.

Meanwhile, Svenningsen said Unimed has built a strong reputation for supporting the health and wellbeing of seafarers, and that he looked forward to getting to know its teams and customers and developing the services maritime operators rely on.

Svenningsen has nearly 30 years of international leadership experience in healthcare supply chains, operations, distribution and business transformation.

He joined Unimed from International SOS, where he held several senior roles, including CEO of its supply division and Chief Operating Officer of its medical services business. He previously held leadership positions at Novartis and Missionpharma, overseeing operations across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
