SEPANG, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain arrived at the Magistrates’ Court here today to face charges over the alleged assault of two police officers.

He arrived at the court at 7.30 am in a blue suit, accompanied by AKPS Port Klang Commander Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

Reporters, photographers and cameramen from various media organisations began gathering at the court as early as 7 am to follow developments in the case.

Yesterday, Mohd Shuhaily said he was prepared to face the country's legal process and accept whatever decision the court reached.

Mohd Shuhaily had earlier said he would leave it to the government to decide on any action against him following a viral video showing him reprimanding two individuals at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail previously said the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department was investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt to another person.
