KOTA BHARU, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- A total of 11 locations in Kelantan have been identified as hotspots frequented by foreigners engaging in various activities, including working and gathering, said Immigration Department Deputy Director-General (Operations) Datuk Lokman Effendi Ramli.

He said out of that total, two locations are located in Kota Bharu, while the other locations were identified in different areas across the state.

According to him, the identified locations are under the authorities' monitoring to ensure that any violations of the law are properly addressed.

"I advise members of the public who have information regarding any misconduct involving foreigners to channel it to the relevant authorities, including the police or the Immigration Department.

"The best step is to contact the authorities who have the jurisdiction to take action, depending on the type of offence reported. We appreciate the public's concern, but we do not want taking matters into our own hands to cause other problems," he said during a press conference after an enforcement operation at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Specialist Hospital project site in Kubang Kerian here today.

Lokman Effendi said public cooperation with the authorities is important to ensure that any complaints are handled through the proper channels.
