Fuzhou Dialogue Honours Cities For Business-Friendly Urban Renewal

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Chinese magazine Oriental Outlook has honoured a group of cities for their achievements in urban renewal and improving their business environment, at a dialogue on liveable cities held in Fuzhou, Fujian province, on Nov 2.

The "2026 Dialogue on Happy and Livable Cities & Business-Friendly Dialogue on Entrepreneurs’ Sense of Happiness" was part of a series of events marking the 13th World Cities Day, aimed to promote exchanges between cities and businesses on building liveable cities.

According to the event’s organising committee in a statement, the cities were honoured at a session titled "Cities of the Year: A Tribute to Entrepreneurs’ Sense of Happiness 2026".

The cities were selected using the magazine’s Entrepreneurs’ Sense of Happiness Index Model, which combines big data research with field visits.

Gangrong Group General Manager, Zheng Erfeng said the company is shifting from traditional residential development towards integrated urban operations, bringing natural greenery into high-rise housing and building public amenities alongside its projects.

Meanwhile, Guanrong Real Estate Administrative Director Chen Naming said urban renewal in county-level cities should not copy the fast-turnover model of traditional property development but should balance commercial development with public amenities through small-scale renovations that respect existing urban layouts.
