Worldwide Holdings Recognised As Best Waste-to-Energy Developer

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Worldwide Holdings Bhd (WHB) has been recognised as Best Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Developer at the Business Today Industry Choice Awards 2026 held recently, marking another milestone in the group’s journey to transform waste into value.

The recognition reflects WHB’s growing capabilities in WTE and its commitment to advancing modern waste management solutions that reduce reliance on landfills, recover value from waste and support the transition towards a low-carbon and circular economy.

“We are proud that our WTE journey is not only delivering critical infrastructure but also building local capabilities and nurturing Malaysian talent in this sector,” its group chief executive officer Ahmad Zaki Ahmad Zainuddin said in a statement here today.

This is important as it develops expertise needed to grow WTE further in Malaysia, he said.

“This award reflects our journey from managing waste to creating value from it. As Malaysia’s largest waste-to-energy developer, it inspires us to go further and establish Worldwide Holdings as a leading name in WTE across the country and beyond,” he added.

Central to this journey is the Jeram WTE facility in Selangor, the largest WTE development. Its first plant commenced commercial operations in May 2026, marking a significant step forward in managing municipal solid waste while generating energy from waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill.
